The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) was developed by Dr. Mark Sundberg, Clinical Manager-D in 2008. The VB-MAPP also includes the Early Echoic Skills Assessment (EESA) developed by Barbara E. Esch, Ph.D. The assessment identifies what skills are needed to be the focus of the intervention, what level of the skill the intervention program will begin with, what barriers to learning and language acquisitions need to be addressed, what specific teaching strategies may be the most effective, and what type of educational setting might best meet a learner’s needs.
